Pages of Agency at the Children’s Crisis Intervention Services (CCIS) Unit at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center

On July 12, 2026, Pulse Parity and EnHeart Studios launched the first Pages of Agency donation event by delivering 30+ books to the Children’s Crisis Intervention Services (CCIS) Unit at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.

The CCIS unit serves children and adolescents ages 5–17 who require short-term crisis stabilization or more extended psychiatric care. We chose the unit for our first donation because young people receiving mental healthcare deserve the same opportunities for enrichment, representation, and dignity as patients in every other area of medicine. Alongside the unit’s structured treatment and daily schooling, books can offer patients a self-directed way to explore their interests, identities, and imaginations during an especially vulnerable period of care.
